Roy Stuffle 1910-1989

 

Bloomington - Roy S. "Jack" Stuffle, 78, died unexpectedly at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 1989, at the Bloomington Hospital.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Poindexter & Son Funeral Home, Odon Chapel with the Rev. Boyd Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Raglesville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

He was born Nov. 30, 1910 in Lawrence County to Edmon E. and Iris Jane Jacobs Stuffle. He married Iona Marie Hart April 15, 1943 and she survives. He was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church of Bloomington. He retired in 1971 from the Washington Community Schools having been Superintendent of Schools for 13 years. Schools that he had been on the Administration staff were Hebron, Elwood, Rockport, LaPorte, Terre Haute, Brazil, Washington and the Daviess County Schools. He was a graduate of Odon Madison Township High School. He received his B.S. degree at Indiana State University and his Master's degree from Indiana University.

Surviving are his wife and three sons, R. Eugene Stuffle, Pocatello, Idaho, Edward L. Stuffle, Crawfordsville, and Mark A. Stuffle, Bloomington, three grandchildren and one brother and one sister, Clarence R. Stuffle, Bloomington, and Mrs. Mary Alice Evans, Raglesville. One brother is deceased.  (Nov. 27, 1989)
