Florence Clark 1910-2007

Florence L. Clark, 97, died at 1:15 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2007 at Health and Rehab Center in Columbus, Indiana.
 
Born Oct. 2, 1910, in Washington, she was the daughter of John Conrad and Lucy All (Wilson) Lemmon.
 
A 1929 graduate of Glendale High School, she also graduated from Indiana State Teachers College in Terre Haute, and attended Lockyear Business College in Evansville.
 
She was a retired teacher, having taught at Washington High School for 22 years. She also taught at Glendale High School, Fritchton High School and Loogootee High School.
 
During World War II she did clerical work at George Field. She was a 65-year member of Glendale Eastern Star, American Association of University Women and Indiana Retired Teachers Association.
 
She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Beverly Clark of Columbus, and Samuel A. Clark of Oviedo, Florida; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Fern Myers of Bloomington; and one brother, Russell Lemmon of Washington.
 
She married Ray A. Clark, a former member of the Washington School Board, on May 16, 1942, and he died June 23, 1991. Two sisters and four brothers are also deceased.
 
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gill Chapel, with Bro. Dan Hendricks officiating. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens. Visitation is after 10 a.m. Tuesday, with an Eastern Star service at 1 p.m.
