C .D. Wittenmyer 1909-1986

 

 

Wheatland - Charles Donald Wittenmyer, 77, died Tuesday at 11;30 a.m., April 15, 1986, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes.

The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Brockman and Son Wheatland Chapel and interment in Asbury Chapel Cemetery, Ragsdale, Ind.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was born Feb. 20, 1909 in Knox County to Charles Edward and Dora Horn Wittenmyer. He married Wilma Dunn June 3, 1937 and she preceded him in death. He was a retired school teacher having taught 41 years. Twenty-Nine of the 41 were at Washington High School. He was a member of the Wheatland United Methodist Church, Monroe City Masonic Lodge No. 548 and Retired Teachers Association. He was a graduate of Bicknell High School and received B.S. and M.S. degrees from Indiana University.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Janet) Earley, Vincennes, two grandchildren and two sisters, Marie McCormick, Bicknell, and Pearl Harper, Independence, Mo.  (Apr.15, 1986)
